- the different ways in which the properties of materials can be changed.

- Scaffold, and record in books:
- definitions of processed materials
- histories of materials production
- the move towards building communities
- traditional and contemporary use of processed materials.
3. Display slide 11, and have students record true or false for each question. Show slide 12 and discuss responses.
